On the lieu of recent events that happened in the Hydajet Lezha Gymnasium where a teacher was attacked by a student of the school with a chair, leaving her badly injured and in need of medical assistance and procedures. We got together to analyze this as a phenomena that affected public opinion but also the lives and perspective of the youth that studies in this high school and of others.
We saw this from two perspectives. From a journalists point of view we tried to make sense and understand the way the news spread and how it transformed through different mediums by brining forth sources of the way the new was portrayed. From this we managed to see that the new was quite different form what happened in reality in many of the portals that shared it and that the need for fact checking was necessary.
The second perspective that we discussed was in a more subjective aspect. Of how this incident made them feel as peers of the person who did the attacking. We delved into their opinions of who was right and wrong and understood that as young citizen journalist we mustn’t let our emotions be a barrier in the way that we deliver news.
