At H.A.N.A Youth Center, the first conference of the 5th edition of the winter school “EU Integration and the Role of Youth in this Process” took place. This conference also marked the beginning of a cooperation agreement with the “Hydajet Lezha” high school. Through this agreement, students from this school will have the opportunity to participate in various programs and activities offered by the H.A.N.A Youth Center, further deepening the role of youth in European integration processes.
The conference was organized into three main discussion stations, where important topics were addressed to better understand the values and principles on which the European Union is built:
Human Rights: The discussion on human rights highlighted their importance as the foundation for a just and equal society. It was emphasized that respecting these rights is one of the key pillars of European integration.
Freedom of the Media: At this station, the role of free media in preserving democracy and protecting human rights was addressed. It was mentioned that an independent media is essential for an informed society and for holding institutions accountable.
Rule of Law: Discussions on the rule of law focused on its importance in ensuring justice and equality for all citizens. Emphasis was placed on the need to strengthen institutions that ensure the enforcement of laws and the prevention of corruption.
Participants in the conference had the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions, connecting the topics with current situations in Albania and the region. The in-depth discussions helped convey the understanding that these three pillars—human rights, freedom of the media, and the rule of law—are fundamental to the process of European integration.
In the continuation of this edition, the youth will have the opportunity to further engage in activities aimed at deepening their knowledge and skills in these areas, preparing the next generation to play an active role in building Albania’s European future.
