Info

The young activists’ club gathered for its first meeting of the year at H.A.N.A. The session served as a moment of reflection on past work, assessment of impact, and planning for upcoming initiatives. The discussion focused on the importance of monitoring local institutions, particularly the municipality and the education sector, to ensure transparency and accountability.

The meeting began with a conversation about the progress made so far. Members shared success stories, highlighting how their efforts have contributed to greater awareness and civic engagement in the community. By analyzing past initiatives, they identified the most effective strategies for bringing change and advocating for youth interests.

One of the key topics discussed was how to improve monitoring efforts for public institutions. The group explored different approaches to tracking municipal activities and education policies, aiming to ensure that decisions made at the local level align with the needs of the community.

To strengthen their research and advocacy work, the members were assigned two key tasks:

Monitoring Schools on Social Media

  • Research school activities shared on social media (Facebook, Instagram, official websites).
  • Analyze whether the content is politically influenced or biased.

Tracking Tenders for Educational Investments

  • Investigate public tenders related to school investments.
  • Learn how to navigate transparency websites to track local government spending.

This first meeting of 2025 set the tone for a year of active engagement, critical research, and youth-led initiatives for accountability. The Activists’ Club remains committed to making a difference and ensuring that young voices are heard in local decision-making!

This intervention is supported by the BAT Monitor Program (Budget Accountability and Transparency), implemented by the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and funded by the European Union .
