Our youth group, made up of passionate high schoolers, has shown interest in learning about municipal finances and accountability . This enthusiasm aligns perfectly with our ongoing intervention, Itinerary of the Public Money – Youth Reports.
In our latest session, we explored the crucial role of citizen involvement in understanding the municipal budget and how it holds officials accountable for their management of public funds. We broke down the different types of municipal income and expenditures, giving our participants key insights into the budgeting process.
The timing couldn’t be better—Lezha Municipality is currently preparing its 2025 budget proposal, which offers a unique opportunity for our youth to connect their engagement with real-time developments in their community.
This intervention is supported by the BAT Monitor Program (Budget Accountability and Transparency), implemented by the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) and funded by the European Union .
Through this, we aim to emphasize once again that H.A.N.A is deeply committed to raising awareness among young people about their rights and responsibilities to influence the addressing of common challenges in the community.
