The next meeting with the youth of the “Youth Reports – Newsroom Club” within the framework of the #BATMonitoring program, brought to attention the importance of an engaged and informed youth. In a society that is developing at a rapid pace, young people cannot remain spectators, but must be an active part of decision-making and monitoring of processes that directly affect them.
Our discussions focused on methods of searching for accurate and factual information, as an essential element to guarantee transparency and accountability. Participants shared their findings on the topics selected for the development of their articles regarding budgeting for youth and sports activities and the impact that this process has on the development of opportunities for the youth of our city.
It is essential for us to seek more spaces and inclusion. Transparency in the management of public funds, the attention of institutions to youth priorities and opportunities for active participation are issues that require vigilance and a voice from young people.
Precisely for this reason, the work of the editorial club is not just a journalistic practice, but a step towards building a stronger culture of critical information and active citizenship.
We believe that an informed youth is a more powerful youth and capable of seeking tangible changes. Only through continuous commitment can we build a good future for the youth of our city.
