Yesterday, thanks to the monitoring of young people, part of the working group of the pilot of Waste Differentiation at Source was noticed in the area around the bins located in the neighborhood “Luigj Gurakuqi”, businesses in the area had thrown very carelessly hazardous waste.
Residents of the area and surrounding businesses are constantly informed on how to use the bins, but although most have understood their service and the value of this initiative, there are still those who are indifferent to do their part.
The businesses that we found with evidence for this violation are two of the pharmacies located in this area, who, although aware that it is not the proper use of the bins, had thrown away their waste without thinking for a long time. For this violation they have contacted the Lezha Municipal Police who were willing to assist us to warn these businesses and to ensure that stronger measures, in the form of fines will be taken if such incidents are found again in the future.
