PËRBALLË ’25- A Civic Debate, Not a Political Show

Info

H.A.N.A Youth Center hosted three parliamentary candidates from emerging political movements in an open and meaningful exchange with the citizens—and especially the youth—of Lezha.

The participants included:

  • Arilda Lleshi – Coalition “Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet”

  • Emiljando Kita – Levizja “Bashkë”

  • Aleksandër Jushi – Coalition “Shqipëria Euroatlantike”

We thank all three candidates for their openness, civic spirit, and willingness to engage directly with a young, curious, and active audience.

During the event, the candidates shared their personal journeys, what inspired them to enter politics, and their individual visions—as well as the broader missions of the political forces they represent.

Following their presentations, they responded to four common questions that reflected some of the most pressing issues in our current political and civic landscape. The discussion covered education, the electoral system, representation, the relationship between citizens and their institutional representatives, and the impact of clientelism on political and institutional life.

It was a civil, representative, and honest debate.
It was a genuine effort to rekindle belief in the idea that change doesn’t happen on its own—it happens through voice, through vote, through action.

This debate was intended to be even more inclusive. Invitations were sent to six political parties, yet unfortunately, two of the major parties declined to participate, while another new political alternative withdrew at the last minute.

Our aim was to hear from everyone—not to showcase political flags, but to create a genuine space for listening and accountability—a call from young people, not from any political base.

It is disappointing when political actors seek safety only among their supporters, rather than engaging in open dialogue with everyday citizens.

H.A.N.A remains unwavering in its commitment to being an independent, neutral, and civic space—where the voices of young people are not filtered through political bias, but heard as a call for real democracy.

Thank you to all the young people who filled our center and made this debate meaningful.
