Re:waste made the last stop of the tour in Fishtë near Mriz i Zanave, an example of success in the way it has transformed the mindset and approach we have towards agritourism.
The exhibition “Re:waste – How Sweden is rethinking resources?” offers a kind of inspiration and change of mindset that positively affects communities and our country as well, addressing the methods Sweden uses to have a sustainable waste management system.
At our stay in Mriz, we noticed that Re:waste attracted the most attention from foreign tourists who were interested in stopping and talking with us about the topic that Re:waste deals with.
In the exchange of experiences with them, the reaction we get from tourists is that the nature of our country is undoubtedly impressive, but they emphasize their surprise at how all the steps of the waste hierarchy are not given due attention, since it is a whole process there that must be followed.
The differentiation of waste, reduction, recycling, composting, etc. are essential to understand and implement, and from models like the one that Sweden brings us, we can get the right practices to reduce the negative impact we have as well as our ecological footprint.
Preserving our environment is a responsibility we all share. By taking seemingly small steps, we can contribute to a sustainable future and protect our country’s beautiful nature.
