“Re: Waste – How is Sweden rethinking resources” continues its journey to the youth of Lezha – the generation that we are particularly interested in being influenced by the valuable information of treating the environment with respect!
The exhibition today was stationed at the premises of the 9-year School “Gjergj Kastrioti” in Lezha and its opening was made between an enthusiastic group of children and young people, their teachers and we were honored with the presence of Mr. Johan Willert, First Secretary and Program Officer at the Swedish Embassy in Albania.
Mr. Willert helped bring the exhibition installations to life by sharing with the audience how Sweden has become one of the first countries in the world for good waste management, thanks to the institutional and citizen intent. He stressed that there is no reason that Albania as well does not influence a change of mentality in its people if it invests a lot of effort. Thus, change, even in small steps, must be initiated by someone or something. And this someone can be any of us!
And yet we all agree that the mentality that we are seeking is achieved first and especially by talking about environmental education and exposure to functional models, and such an example is the model that Sweden applies.
Let us remind that the exhibition “Re: Waste” is implemented for the first time in Albania, and the Western Balkans, by H.A.N.A youth center in cooperation with the Swedish Embassy and thanks to the support of the Swedish Institute.
