Albania is considered a country with explosive development in the field of HPPs, it ranks first among 11 Balkan countries in terms of numbers; 724 planned, 290 built and 24 in progress.
Although, the need is screaming and imposing from the EU Directive, to produce bioenergy through the sun and the wind, saving the few rivers left without being destroyed by the greed of the state-private bargain, the Albanian institutions are sacrificing the water resources, the life of the inhabitants, of the country , to satisfy the interests of the HEC oligarchy, indirectly theirs.
Zall-Gjoçaj, National Park and Protected Area, is a symbol of community resistance to the occupier and oppressor with permission from the inside. We got to know their 3-year journey by knocking on institutions to highlight the irony of the situation; HOW CAN IT INTERFERE TO DRY UP THE RESOURCES OF THE ZONE PROTECTED BY LAW, AGAINST THE VITAL INTERESTS OF THE INHABITANTS (simple, not with power) AND THE LEGISLATION THAT ITSELF DRAFTED?!
Where does a state find the right to act contrary to the will of the sovereign and destroy natural resources without a conscience?!
Let someone come out to oppose it: In Albania, the richest areas by nature (minerals, natural) are those where poverty and scarcity are the most dominant of the inhabitants, contrary to the force of logic and the natural burden of life. Such is the extent of the damage that politics has done in Albania, and the need to self-aware that it cannot continue like this is heartbreaking! Radical change will happen only when the people become aware of their power in a dormant state, but without a doubt there!
