In an era where misinformation spreads rapidly, equipping young people with the tools to critically assess news and media content is more important than ever. We hosted the third training session of the SEECheck – Youth for Truth Program, focusing on Media Monitoring Tools.
This event aimed to empower young participants with practical skills to identify biased news, detect misinformation, and understand the role of artificial intelligence in media narratives. Led by renowned journalists Esiona Konomi and Osman Stafa, the training provided an interactive and eye-opening experience for participants.

The last training session ended with a deeper understanding from the participants of how media operates and how to critically engage with news content. The key conclusions emphasized the importance of fact-checking before sharing news to prevent the spread of misinformation. They also highlighted the need to recognize biased reporting and propaganda techniques, enabling individuals to assess information critically. Additionally, supporting independent journalism was identified as crucial for ensuring transparency and accountability in media. Lastly, developing critical thinking skills was underscored as essential for navigating digital media responsibly and making informed decisions.
The event concluded with heartfelt words from the trainers Esiona Konomi and Osman Stafa, who congratulated the participants on their engagement and critical discussions throughout the session. H.A.N.A Youth Centre representatives also expressed their gratitude for the dedication of the young attendees, emphasizing the importance of media literacy in today’s society.
To recognize their participation, certificates were awarded to all attendees, marking their commitment to becoming more informed and responsible media consumers. The ceremony ended on a high note, with encouragement for the participants to continue questioning, analyzing, and verifying the information they encounter in the digital world.
