In the section “Local Heroes” for the month of January, we bring to attention Vasil Kukaj, the fine art craftsman of pottery in Albania. Although not a contemporary or modern profession, it is one of the most beautiful traditional crafts of the local cultural heritage that this honorable gentleman has dedicated his life to not letting it be covered by the dust of oblivion. He lives in Krajen of Lezha (near Fishta) and through his studio “Studio Ceramics Vasili” for 20 years decorates the tables of Albanians and restaurants with his artistic works. Morals?
