The Virtual Museum of Labor Camps in Maliq
The literary material of this film, conceptualized by Luljeta Lleshanaku, is based on the written stories and testimonies of some of the sufferers in the forced labor camps in Maliq.
The report of the American Government presented to the UN in February 1955, among other things, said about dictatorial Albania:
“Until April 1951 there were 10 political prisons in Albania, of which 10,000 were living in appalling conditions. Their torture and inhuman treatment were described as unbelievable. In the death camp in Vloçisht, prisoners woke up at 3.30 am and started “work in the canal at 6.00, returned to the camp at 20.00. Some of those who were very ill for work were buried alive in the canal …”
